Rob Teehan plays a plethora of instruments here on a collection of originals in which he team ups to create a trio with Aleksander Gajic/vio and Adrian Fung/cel. As Teehan shifts between piano, guitar, melodica and various percussion and wind instruments, he creates a tapestry of semi classical, semi folk moods such as “The Wolf” or “The South Shore” that melds plaintive piano with longing strings. Ronen Segal’s accordion joins in to create an Eastern European atmosphere on “Cobblestones” and the team goes a bit bohemian on “The Busker.” Sounds and atmospheres to from Cumberland Gap on “Cobblestones” to the Old Wold on “Zahra’s Waltz” while Tamar Ilana and Sophia Vassiliadis bring warm and impressionistic voices to “The Canyon.” Delicate sounds that meld classicism and gentle folksy interplay with a dash of improvisataion
