Vocalist Joanna Pascale has a husky voice and uses space and intonation well on this collection of standards. She’s teamed with a bunch of all stars, including Cyrus Chestnut, Orrin Evans, Christian McBride and Kurt Rosenwinkel. She displays a fragile vibrato on “Lament” and is able to tell a story with Resenwinkel and company on the title track. A bit of 70s songstress comes up on “Overjoyed” whle she is patient and reflective on the majority of pieces such as the slowly undulating “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” and “Stay With Me.” She can reflect the blues and gospel as well on “Drown In My Own Tears.” Calm and mature.
