I know it seems like Earth, Wind and Fire make EVERY day a holiday, but this is their first actual celebration of Christmas on record. They use their patented vocals and air tight horns and rhythm to cover just about every part of the Nativity Season, even including a traditional Japanese winter song (“Snow”) as well taking a few of their own classics and sprinkling them with snowflakes. From “September” you get the new take called “December,” and from “Happy Seasons” comes the stocking stuffer “Happy Feeling,” both which fit better than the sweater you’ll get from your cousin. They definitely spike the eggnog on their takes of traditional tunes like “Joy to the World” and “O Come All Yea Faithful,” while “Winter Wonderland swings like mistletoe. The come around the fireplace just right on “Away in a Manger” and give extra hues to “What Child Is This?” A good call for livening up the office party.
